Arrecife began as little more than a small fishing village in the mid 15th century and has since grown to be the largest city in lanzarote. Arrecife has the largest resident population in lanzarote and is predominantly Spanish.

Property for sale in Arrecife is different to the rest of the island. You will find many more apartments for sale in Arrecife as it is a very built up area. The prices in Arrecife are better but the properties are a little more basic as the developers are aiming to cater for residents with less budget.

Arrecife began the capital of lanzarote at the end of the 18th century, taking over from the previous capital of Teguise. Arrecife is a natural harbor that is protected by a large barrier of reefs and islets. Arricife is also the home of the islands only international airport, the airport has seen a great deal of investment as there is predicted to be a massive increase of people traveling to lanzarote over the next few years as the property market becomes more widely known.
