Conil Property

Conil in Lanzarote is an unspoilt and very 'un-touristy' part of the island. If you want to soak up the real Lanzarote atmosphere then a property for sale in Conil will be perfect for you. There are very few apartments for sale in Conil as this is more of a rural area mainly made up of larger properties.

Conil is part of the district of Tias, it is situated approximately 14km west of the capital Arrecife, and the Arrecife International Airport, and 8km north of the largest resort on Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen.
Conil is mainly residencial and as result most visitors here will be independent travellers who either own holiday homes in the area, or are staying at the only hotel in the village the impressive Casa Tegoyo Rural House on the outskirts of Conil.

Once you have arrived in the village you will very quickly realise that Conil is not a purpose built tourist resort, but a very much a traditional Canarian town where you will always have the feeling of being an invited, but welcome guest, to another way of life. The small numbers of visitors who do make it here are often middle aged, and use the village as a convenient base to see what still remains of the undiscovered Lanzarote, away from the over developed beach resorts and all night karaoke bars along the popular south coast.

Conil has a small local supermarket which stocks a surprisingly wide range of goods, although many of the brands may not be instantly recognisable to most British consumers, however for a wider choice, the town of Tias is only a few minutes drive away, and the Centro Commercial Deiland at nearby Playa Honda, is also less than 15 minutes away in a car.

The village of Conil could never be described as being lively, and children or young teens would probably be hopelessly bored within 15 minutes of arriving here. However, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a tranquil setting, away from the all night neon lit bars and nightclubs, then Conil may be the place for you.
