Playa Honda is nuzzled down on the coastline between Arrecife and airport. It has a lovely promenade with some great restaurants and bars. Playa Honda is an area more dominated by locals having a good time than tourists, because of this prices are good and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Playa Honda is on the east side of the island and therefore sheltered from the larger waves and stronger 'trade' winds found on the westward Lanzarote coastline.

As you stroll along the Playa Honda promenade you will see fisherman pulling up their boats with a days catch whilst their wives chat the children play on the beach. The promenade is actually quite a thing, stretching all the way from the El Reducto beach in the centre of Arrecfie through El Cable, Playa Honda, the airport and right on to the old town harbour of Puerto del Carmen. You can spend a lovely day strolling along this promenade, stopping off for a drink in a bar and a swim in an almost deserted beach.

In summary Playa Honda is mainly a residential area for Lanzarote residents but situated close to the airport, Deiland shopping centre and the beach it really does tick a lot of boxes and without the extra hype of areas like Puerto del Carmen you can still find some bargain prices to boot.
