Teguise is a town steeped in Lanzarote history with many a tale to tell. The town is overlooked by a castle alone on a hill high above which is dramatically lit at night. Teguise was the capital of Lanzarote once before the main trade moved around the port of Arrecife. Teguise has been adopted by many of Lanzarote's artists and every Sunday the largest market on the island is used to display their wares. The Teguise Sunday market is very well visited but well worth the trek.

The Teguise property market has a good selection with a few recent new developments just completed to liven the market up a little. There is a broad selection of property available from small apartments, to middle sized villas and amazing fincas.

Property for sale in Teguise starts at around 260,000 euros for a three bedroomed house with two bathrooms with an extended patio and nice comfortable living spaces.

Teguise has some lovely artesanian shops, some great restaurants and some lovely cobbled streets. The town centre has a great square, an impressive church and spire and even an eccentric local artist who has turned his garden into his art gallery.
